The journey to Daydream Island went really smoothly. What a difference it is to travel with kids now compared to a few years back. I guess they are getting bigger and better every year. I wish ;-))))
We arrived at Hamilton Island on time. After we picked up the luggage, we took a ferry to our little island. A quick 25 minutes on the water, and we were there. We went straight to our room and OMG, what the hell was that. It didn't look the same as in the picture. After a quick exchange with the receptionist, we were upgraded to a room with an ocean view ;-), Yuppie
A quick view around the island and straight to the restaurant. The dinner was yummy and quick as we were all tired. Next morning we got up just before 6.00 a.m. Not sure why my kids are always waking up so early on holidays.
The Daydream Island is small but nicely organized. You can find a little bit of everything here. Highly recommended for families with small kids. There is a life reef where you can touch and feed stingrays, little sharks and many more fish. There are even wallabies jumping around. Easy and nice snorkelling, walking in the bush, private helicopters taking you around islands, jetski, paddling boards, kayaks are on your door steps. So everything sounds beautiful and I have to say it is. But, there is always a but ;-). Everything is bloody expensive and you have to pay for all the extras. You are stuck on the small Island in the middle of nowhere so either you shake your wallet or you get stuck by the pool doing nothing, which also sounds pretty good to me ;-)))
